Lap Gynec Surgery:

Gynecological surgery refers to surgical procedures on the female reproductive system. It includes procedures for benign conditions such as fibrods, excessive bleeding, cancer, infertility, and incontinence.

One of the greatest surgical advances of the modern age is the ability to use a laparoscope for minimally invasive surgery in areas that previously required major open surgery.

Our Center has pioneered this technology for all Gynecological surgeries involving cervix, endometrium, uterus etc.

During laparoscopic surgery we make 2-3 tiny incisions (each 3-12 mm long) in your lower abdomen to reach the target organ. A tiny tube with a light and a camera (i.e., a laparoscope) is inserted into the incision and directed to the organ.

The Gynec surgeon navigates and inspects the region on a TV-like monitor that receives images from the camera, and can visualize tissue, biopsy suspicious regions, or remove tumors with a cutting instrument and tissue retrieval apparatus that is also part of the laparoscope.

The major advantage of laparoscopic gynecological surgery is that we can perform the same surgeries that used to require large open incisions with just a few tiny incisions. This reduces pain and scarring, and significantly reduces the time it takes for you to recover from surgery.

In addition, the laparoscope images are magnified when they appear on the monitor, allowing us to see even greater tissue detail than would be available during traditional surgery.

Also we are one of the very few centers in India having 3D laparoscopic system that allows us to significantly reduce surgery time. As a result of this, you will be under anaesthesia for much shorter duration.

Practically most of Gynec Surgeries like Hysterectomy, Oopharectomy, tumor removal, and fibroid removal (Myomectomies) are routinely done Laparoscopically by dedicated Laparoscopic surgeons at our center. We also use special instruments called morselators that helps remove large organs through tiny incisions without causing additional trauma to you.
